Rite of Passage

Rite of Passage is my first self-published photobook. It features a series of analog photographs I made while wandering Berlin by night following my arrival here in 2020 — about a year after my father's death. The series is a meditation on the circumstances and choices that led me to Berlin (a city my father also avidly photographed in the 80s and 90s), as well as on grief, memory, and photography as an inherited practice.

Rite of Passage was curated by Marc Volk and me. It was produced by Outer Space Press.
